Kayla Martin is a dedicated Safety Supervisor for Bend-La Pine Schools, where she plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff across 33 schools. Kayla holds a master's degree in Emergency Management and is passionate about integrating volunteer management within educational settings to enhance safety and community resilience. Prior to their role in the school district, Kayla served as the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a rural public health department, where she developed comprehensive planning and training initiatives to strengthen community response efforts. Kayla also worked with Sarasota County Emergency Management during hurricane season, gaining valuable experience in coordination and resource management. Additionally,Kayla worked in business continuity at Cloudflare, Inc., where she crafted strategies for crisis response and organizational resilience. In her free time, Kayla enjoys exploring Bend, Oregon with her partner, Noah, and yellow labrador retriever, Daisy Mae. At this conference, Kayla looks forward to sharing insights on effectively managing volunteers and integrating safety protocols, aiming to inspire attendees to strengthen their programs and foster safer school environments through collaboration and preparedness.
